  The relationship between diet and cancer risk is complex and depends not only on specific foods but also on overall dietary patterns and lifestyle factors. However, certain foods and cooking methods have been linked to an increased risk of cancer. 1.Processed meats  such as bacon, sausage, hot dogs and deli meats. These often contain nitrites and nitrates, which when cooked or metabolized form carcinogenic compounds called nitrosamines. 2. Charcoalized meat  Grilling or frying meat at high temperatures leads to the formation of heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are known to be carcinogenic. 3. Red meat The meat of mammals like cow, goat, sheep and pork belong to this category. Various carcinogens are produced during the cooking process of these types of meat.
